The next chapter

Hey everybody,

Truth be told I have been feeling a little uneasy lately. There has been a lot of change happening in my life in the past couple of weeks and it's going to continue for a while.
Don't get me wrong nothing fatal or terrible has happened but it seems like in a matter of weeks my whole world had changed. Some things I decided myself , as I felt ready to take the challenge and others I never saw coming!!

Since anxiety I crave habit and ritual even though this is something I had no time for in the past and although my routine maybe different to most people, I work a full time job mainly evenings and nights and blog as offen as time and life permits. Nonetheless it's my routine and for the most part I'm happy with it!

The reason I'm blogging this is because I'm sure I'm not the only one going through this now and not only am I looking for advice but I want share with you guys what I'm doing to stay sane and stable in what feels like a totally unstable and unpredictable environment.

I had a chat with my mam yesterday #mamsarethebest and she reassured me saying that it is just a new chapter in my life and I should see all of this as an opportunity!! And of course as mothers usually are , she is right!!

My ways of staying calm

Keep your routine

As I have mentioned previously keeping a routine as much as life will allow will keep you grounded. Sure there maybe unavoidable changes but whatever makes you happy and whatever makes you feel comfortable , keep as much of it in your life as you can.

Have me time

For me this is coffee and a magazine or watching reality TV (Geordie shore or Catfish are always a favourite of mine for forgetting things that make me anxious.... For a while anyway)

Stay goal orientated

I feel like if you are working towards something like a greater goal whether it be a career goal or a car or holiday it is always great to have something to look forward to. Plus it will give a sense of purpose and reason in your life.

Talk about it

There is nothing worse than feeling like your going crazy all by yourself. If you talk about it not only can people give you great advice but I can guarantee you feel so much better just by getting it off your chest!

Sleep

Easier said then done I know I'm a bit of an insomniac myself due to years of night work and late night blogging but nothing is worse for and anxious or worried mind than being over tired!  Try to develop a routine the best you can

Eat better

Your body and mind need all those vitimins and minerals to give it the best fighting chance of taking on the day. I also recommend a breakfast which I won't lie I myself have only really started doing in the past year. It really does make a difference.

Avoid caffeine while anxious and stressed

I usually will only have one coffee or tea a day max during stressful times or periods of change. And stick to decaffe if I want a second.

Exercise

Yes it's true what they say. Exercise can solve a multitude of life's problems both body and mind.... stressed out why not run it off??

Finally and most importantly..... Be with the ones you love

Spend time with those most important to you. Life is too short to spend it being unhappy. My advice is leave all that bad energy and the people that don't impact your life in a good way and focus on the people that deserve to be a part of your life. That make you happy and remind you what life is really about!!

Obviously all of this is easier said than done but if you slowly try out some of it hopefully you will see a vast improvement in your quality of life and mental health!

Hope this helped and if anyone has any other suggestions please leave them in the comments do we can all learn from and help each other!! Remember never be afraid to ask for help! We're only human after all!

Thank you for reading
