Midweek Motivation || Taking on too much at once!

Hey Friends,

So it's that time of year! Everybody's got their new years resolutions & they're all out hustling, girlbossing and going hell for leather to make this year better than last year.

Recently I was talking to a close friend about my plans for 2017 & while I was telling her all the things I wanted to achieve she said something very interesting to me. She said "Whatever you do don't try to take on everything at once. Nothing can be perfect over night. Its all the little things & little decisions you make everyday that work towards the greater goal!"

This really stuck with me! She was right. I have a tendency to get an idea into my head, attack it and then either get bored, start to feel unmotivated or undefeated with no stamina or will to keep going. This combined with bouts of anxiety sometimes I'm left at a standstill, especially if things are not going great in my personal life. Generally in these times I tend to hide and leave all thoughts of goals or sometimes even blogging on the back burner with no will to carry on for a while.

Don't get me wrong I'm not saying I have no will to carry on with life or anything dark like that but I just feel like I go into survival mode which means I don't feel like I have the strength to attack life with the force it needs to get goals accomplished.

I have taken note of these words and I really feel like this is something I want to do in 2017. Really think about my goals and plan properly so as not to get overwhelmed and lose before I have even begun.

I know last year I didn't do badly with my goals at all but blogging really took a hit because my life was chaotic at some points. I had a great year overall but I really didn't have the capacity (or at least think or feel like I did) to take on everything so unfortunately it was blogging that suffered. Which was a shame & also something that made me feel terrible, not only because I feel like I have been promising you guys so much and not delivering but also because I love blogging and it's like an outlet for me when I'm stressed and upset. Just to sit here & talk to you guys!

I have been hearing alot about having a "buzz word" for the new year. I have decided I will try it this year. This year my word is going to be "stability" in all senses and meanings on the word. I need to stabilise most areas of my life and build proper routines, personal relationships, blogging, work, finances, my space, eating & health & mental health. This sounds (& feels) like alot. Even reading that back makes me feel overwhelmed but like my friend says a little a day will get you there.

As long as you have an idea of where you want to go then you can head in the right direction with decisions you make everyday.

I hope this post was helpful (I know it was a little rambly) Please let me know in the comments your thoughts on this topic!

Beautylalinda - Lifestyle || Slaying it 2017 || 30 before 30 update

Hey Friends!

So on March 2015 (Crazy how time flies) I posted a list of 30 things I wanted to do before I turned 30. If you want to read it you can click here - 30 Things to do before I'm 30! Here is how I'm getting on so far!!

1.Learn at least one new Language

This is one I'm starting on this year! It's one of my goals for 2017!!

2. Jump out of a Plane

Ironic as one of my goals for 2017 is to get on one but it has always been a dream of mine to do this.

3. Get a Tattoo

I still haven't found the right one! I know I want something that means something to me. I will find it, I'm sure of that!

4. See Ed Sheerhan Live

5. Go to Crufts Dog Show

6. Ladies Day at the Races

7. Run the half Marathon

I walked the Mini Marathon with my mother last year for a breast cancer charity, It was a lot of fun. There was a massive turn out and I felt accomplished when it was over. However that was not the goal I set out so I still have it as my goal to run the half marathon.

8. Get my fortune told

9. Be in a studio audience

10. Invent a cocktail

11. Go to a drive in cinema

12. Create a scrapbook/ photo album

13. Buy an expensive bag, shoes & watch

14. Read a classic book

15. Travel to atleast 5 places on my list

16. Go to a pantomime

17. Horse Riding

I have whole post which you can click on here 30 before 30 - #17 Horse Riding dedicated to it. However since then I have been horse riding twice & I plan on doing it more!!

18. Learn to cook more & eat cleaner

19. Learn a craft

20. Go to more comedy gigs

I actually have tickets to seee Russell Howard in february!! Can't wait!!

21. Try as many fitness classes as possible

22. Take a dance class

23. Go to IMATS and Blogger events

24. Get a puppy

25. Re-connect

In the past couple of years I have re-connected with many old friends & I am so happy about it! I will continue to make the effort and not let the people love slip out of my life because I am too busy! It's not a good enough excuse!

26. Watch classic movies

27. Attend a musical

28. Go back to college / do another course

In the past few months I went back to college and did a short course on digital marketing which I really enjoyed. I don't want it to stop there though. I think education is an amazing gift that we should all take advantage of!!

29. Play video games

30. Be my own boss

Im not there yet but hopefully if I work hard and keep hustling I will get there in the end!!

So this is how I'm getting on.. Slowly but surely! Its been almost 2 years since I created this list (I still can't believe that!) which means I have 3 years to go! Then I will start all over again!

I think its important to have dreams and goals! Keeps life interesting and gives you something to work for. We can always improve & we will never be perfect but the key to life is happiness so why not include happiness in our plans? We make so many plans everyday for the things we have to do.. why not make plans for things we want do!!

I will keep you updated on my journey, Leave me a comment and let me know any of your goals that you have set out for yourself! I would love to hear them!

BeautyLaLinda - Lifestyle || Slaying it 2017!! || Tips to Sticking to & Achieving your Goals!!

Hello Friends,

Its that time of the year again!! By now you probably have your goals & resolutions in your head & you know what you would like to achieve in to 2017! If you would like to check out mine you can click on the link here - Goals & Resolutions 2017

Its all well and good having ideas & goals if you then never bother to try and achieve them... or worse you start off really good and then lose momentum after a week. Believe me, we have all been there! I too have fallen into the trap!! All happy and ready to rock & roll but a couple of weeks in and I can't even remember what my goals were in the first place. However in recent years I have become better and better with this! I have a few tips that might give you the hand you need to get you to the finish line.

Idea time!

First off, grab yourself a piece of paper and a pen and write down what you want to achieve. It doesn't matter how big or small they are just get them out of your head and onto paper. I think in a wierd way sometimes when you write things down they almost feel more real. For example if you have been thinking I really want to learn to sew, then it's a nice thought but that's all it is a thought, however once you write it down it feels more like a commitment, more real. It feels like if it was important enough to write it down then it is important enough to put the time and energy into achieving it! Make your goals as broad or as specific as you like as long as you have them on paper.

Get Real!

Now you have them all in front you now is the time to get specific. Make it more realistic. If you have "lose some weight" written down then now look at it and say it to yourself, how much? By when? If you want learn a language. Then ask yourself, what language? By when? Why? Make them all more specific so you know exactly what you are working towards and when you have achieved what you have set out to do!

Make a plan!

Right! You got your goals, you know your targets now what? Now you have to make your plan to get you there right!? So you want to learn Italian? Look up all the classes in your area, see if any of them fit your time schedule & will work for you. Buy phrase books, Download Apps, Get books on audible, use the internet & all its glory to your advantage. Next decide the timing. If you have classes that will already put you on a schedule, however if you also have apps or audible books or regular books then decide to maybe put 10 mins aside each day to listen, read or interact with the app. Soon this will become routine to you!

Calm Down!

I know how easy it is to get all caught up with resolution madness!! I, myself have fallen victim to it. However I honestly believe that it is the quickest path to failure! If you start running before you can walk you will fall and hurt yourself and forever become discouraged. You will start thinking negative things like "It will never happen for me!" "I can't do this! It's just too hard!" "I give up! I'll start again Next year!" My advice is to start off nice and slow. Stay consistent! If you forget a day or get a knock back, get up dust yourself off and keep going! Remember although it has become customary to create goals and resolutions at the start of each year, you can create a goal on any day of the week and start a new journey! Its all about perspective and perseverance. If its not happening as quick as you thought you may need to adjust your goal strategy but it will work out in the end if you really want it to!!

Be Accountable

Track your progress along the way and the last thing you will want to do is stop! Make these visual, have them wherever you think you will see them most! There's nothing more satisfying then seeing how much you have done and how well you are doing. If you don't think you can do this alone get a buddy! If someone else you know wants to accomplish the same thing team up!! Twice the fun! Tell people if you want others to hold you accountable. Whether they mean to or not they are bound to ask how you are getting on and you want to be able to tell them you are smashing it!! You guys keep me accountable as I always tell you at the beginning of the year my goals & resolutions, then I do a review around June & then again at the end of the year but I don't generally tell many people in my daily life as I like to work quietly on them by myself. I find it alot more pressure to tell people!

Reward Yourself

Within accomplishing almost any goal there are many smaller goals that join together to create the ultimate goal. I think if you make many little goals that lead you to the greater goal they automatically seem more attainable. I think if you reward yourself when you achieve your goals it will help you to stay on track as you will be able to see exactly how far you have actually come.  For example you stick out the Italian all year then why not plan an Italian holiday to put all your hard work to good use!!

Dream & Work Hard

Thats pretty much it! If you really want it you can do it! Nobody else is going to do it for you! Just think if you start now where you could be this time next year! You can do it my friends, I believe in you!

Leave me a comment below letting me know what you hope to accomplish in the next 12 months & also if you have any tips of your own on how to achieve your goals and resolutions!!

Beauty La Linda ||Midweek Motivation || New Year, New You?

Hello Friends,

Welcome to the first #MidweekMotviation post of 2017.

Here today I want to talk to you about the cliche term that everybody knows about - New Year, New You. Now I know you may be thinking "ugh god.... really?" I personally believe that you can change your life on any given day of the week. It's happened to me many times but as we are here on the first week of January lets talk about it now.

What do you really want to do? Come on there must be something! A job you really want, a language you want to learn, a skill you want to aquire, a book you want to write. You might want to get healthier? You might want to travel? Why not do it now or atleast make a plan and work towards it.

My last post (which you can click on here - My Goals & Resolutions 2017) Includes all my goals & resolutions for 2017! The reason I do this every year is because it gives me a chance to really think about my life and where it is headed. What do I want from this year and my life. What will make me happy & how can I get there? Of course I can't control everything or predict things that are going to happen but I can try and steer it in the right direction!

Why not make "New Year, New You" work for you!? Take a moment and really think about what would make you happy and what realistic actions you can take to get there! Set targets for yourself! Make a vision board! Whatever it takes to get you to where you want to be in life. Remember as cliche as it sounds life is a journey so if you work at it you can steer it in the direction you want. You may not get there in 2017 (depending on your goal) but with hard work & motivation you will be well on your way to achieving them.

Let me know in the comments what you want to work towards this year! What would make you happy??

Happy 2017 Everybody!

Beauty La Linda - Lifestyle || My Goals & Resolutions 2017!

Hey Friends,

Another year, Another start!! Fresh, Unknown (Kinda scary) but Super Exciting!! I wanted to take this day to share with you my Goals for 2017!!

Clean up my Act!

By this I meant minimalism. Okay so I have no plans to be totally minimalistic but I would like to learn more & take parts of it that will apply to my life. For example I have 2 (yes 2) wardrobes full of clothes (& and shelves & drawers) Who needs this amount of clothes. I have realised that combined with a slight shopping addiction I have also not thrown anything out, donated anything or sold anything since I became an actual adult which is about 9 years ago. Things have to go. I have made a plan to clean out everything in the next two months before I move again. That way I can be sure that everything in my life has either value to me or purpose. I'm currently listening to the book by "Marie Kondo" The Life Changing Magic of Tidying up & Watching minimalist Youtubers in order to gain tips, motivation, and inspiration. If you have any plans to do the same then join me on my journey!! Lets do this together!!

Sort out my Finances

Due to college I am still in debt. Not too much by some peoples standards but I would like to have it all clear by the end of 2017! I would like to make a financial plan & stick to it! I started this in 2016 & learned quite a bit about budgeting, however I would like to get better at it so I can build for the future. One of my favourite Budget Youtubers is @gobudgetgirl She really is an inspiration! & such a nice person. I wish her the best of luck on her journey to financial freedom. Although I am lucky enough to be nowhere near in debt as she is I still would like to clear it & have no more financial worries over my head!

Get on that Plane!

Okay so it didn't work out for me in 2016 but it looks like I will be tackling this one before the month is out!! I have also plans in the works for the summer time & now that I have my passport sorted, Its full steam ahead!! #excited #terrified

Learn a Language

So as you may already know learrning a language is on my list of 30 things I want to do before I'm 30. Well it also just so happens that my boyfriend is polish so I can combine the two! My plan is to start polish lessons, maybe in the Autumn when work dies down again. You never know I might have a polish blog soon haha!

Build Proper Routines

One thing I tend to lack in my life is a lack of stability or consistency. I think by building a proper routine I will begin to feel calmer, stronger & more productive in my day to day life.

Understanding Me!

This year I want to spend time on my own personal development. I want to really think about my life and where I want it to go. I feel like I'm coming to an age where I really need have a plan, focus or direction when it comes to my future. What do I want? Where do I want to be in 5 years time? I also want to get a better handle and understanding of my anxiety... Its the main reason I didnt accomplish Blogmas this year.. but I will perserve because I'm worth it & my life is worth it!!

I think if I could tackle or (hopefully accomplish) these goals in 2017 I would have a brighter future ahead.  I will do my best and thats all I can do!!

Leave me a comment below & let me know what your goals and resolutions are for 2017. What do you plan on taking on/ changing or leaving behind in 2016!?

Beauty La Linda - Lifestyle || Review of Goals & Resolutions 2016!

Hey There,

Welcome to my first post of 2017!!I have to say in a way, I'm kind of sad to see the end of 2016 to be honest. Usually I'm not really like that. Usually I love the start of a fresh new year but this year overall has been a fantastic year. Sure I lost some friends but I gained so many amazing people in my life & shared so many amazing experiences!

Here's how I did on last years Goals & Resolutions

Blogging & Youtube

To be honest I could have done so much better & I know that. I have to learn how to deal with change & not let it affect my blogging life. So many times I have gone MIA and its always because of a massive change or upheaval in my life & I can't multi- task. It is something I'm working on & will continue to work because this blog & you guys are very important to me!

Plan something to look forward to each month

Do you know what? I think I ended up doing this accidentally. I had an amazing summer overall. It wasn't always perfect (obviously... that's life) but on the whole I had one of the best summers of my life!

Find a nice place to live

Again without knowing or meaning to I ended up living in one of the most beautiful areas in the world. The views are out-standing. No I did not live in my perfect house or housing situation but the area in which I lived... nice doesn't do it justice!

Getting Healthier

Again accident! Where I lived produces the most amazing seafood and for most of the year my diet consisted of mostly seafood and fruit and veg. I felt healthier there then I have for a long time. Being out and about in the fresh air and nature also helps!

Organisation

I think I really did improve last year & I made a solid effort get a better handle on my life & be a better adult. However I think this is a learning process & plan continuing to improve over the coming year!

Getting my car sorted!

I am proud to say I did do this!! I go it all sorted!! Woop Woop!! Success!

So there you have it! It's been a good year! However I have high hopes for 2017! I would also like to mention just a thought that crossed my mind as I was writing this. So many times I wrote down accident. Which to be honest is true but I think when you write out or set out a goal, even if you don't come back to it for a while, I think you have subconciously instilled this into your brain as something you are working towards. I know a lot of people say you shouldn't worry about yearly resolutions but I think that they can be motivating to set you on the right path for your year! Also its kind of nice at the end of the year to look back and think "Yeah! I did that!"

Please let me know in the comments how you got on with your goals & resolutions last year!! I would love to know about your achievements!1

Thank you my friends for a wonderful year! I hope you have all had a great Christmas & I wish you all the most amazing 2017!! We got this!!

Tomorrow I will be posting my Goals & Resolutions so see you there!!
