Beauty La Linda Lifestyle || Slaying it 2017 || Here come the girls!!




Hey Friends,

HAPPY GALENTINES DAY!!

Today I wanted to talk to you about a newer holiday/trend that is sweeping the nation.. that is GALENTINES DAY. It is a time we take to truely appreciate our besties!! A time where we push all boys / romantic love to the side and just focus on our friendships with our girls, our nearest and dearest that have been there for us through thick and thin. They have seen us through the good times where we thought life couldn't possibly get any better & through the times where we felt like we never wanted to leave our bed again, when all we wanted was to hide indoors, eat ice-cream & hang out with netflix. Yes us girls have been through it all together & finally we creating a day to mark this!!


So how will we celebrate!? Here are a few of my favourite ways to spend time with my friends!! 

 If you have time to plan it -

  • A trip, whether that be over night trip, road trip or just a day trip to somewhere fun like the zoo!
  • You can plan a spa day or a beauty salon trip day!
  • Food is always a good idea, how about lunch, dinner, coffee, pancakes..... hmm I getting hungry just thinking about it!! 
  • You could meet at one of your homes & get crafty, bake or even just have a chill day with TV in pjs and lots of chats.
If you want make a night of it / or time has just slipped away - 
  • You could make a night out if too. Date night? Cocktails? Get dressed up & your drink on? Movie night? Or just treat yourselves to a fancy dinner? Why not? You deserve it after all!!
  • Don't forget it doesn't have to be expensive if its not in the budget! You can a pizza & netflix night!! Your still going to have a blast when its you and you besties!!


If your like me & time has not been your friend lately then remember you can always make a date to celebrate #galentinesday in the future! My bestie & I are going to spend the weekend together as we no longer live close to each other anymore so I'm really excited for that!! So even if you don't have the time to celebrate today. Give 'em a text and let them know you love 'em & make a plan to do something fun just the 2 of you in the near future!! 

Never take the people in your life for granted! They deserved to feel appreciated too!!

Liebster Awards #3



Hello Everyone!

Welcome to my third & final installment of the Liebster Awards thanks to the lovely Chloe Ann. I am so delighted to be nominated, and so many times! I feel so lucky!!

Here we go for one last time-

  

1. What do you think is you most annoying trait!?

hmm... I think I probably have a lot of them, but I like to think of it as more like quirky. Im a little OCD on things being clean.. like germs and hygiene, so that can probably get annoying. Im a little more extreme about it than your average person. Im also a very animated person, quite curious like "what you doing?, why you doing that?" So that might annoy people too... I also talk quite abit so that could also be annoying. (hmm dont know if im painting a good picture of myself here haha, please still be my friend haha)


2. If you could only use 3 make up products for the rest of the year what would they be??

Hmm.. as a beauty blogger this is a tough one but if I had to choose... Mascara, Foundation & Bronzer (not sure if its technically cheating but I would just use lip balm for my lips... Thats not cheating right?) I really would like concealer but as my skin isnt bad (I am extremely lucky) foundation will do the job but I love concealer for highlighting!


3. What are your 3 favourite blogs to read?

Im not sure if this means specific bloggers or blog types... If its specific bloggers then Im sorry but I just couldnt narrow it down to 3 but my favourite types of blogs to read are almost anything beauty related, Lifestyle eg.. fashion, DIY, Home hauls... that sort of thing, & also travel blogs.. so many places in the worl I want to visit & they give me inspiration!!



4. Who is you celebrity Crush?

Oh so many! but Im going cheat & do top 3.... The love of my life for a good 10 years at least now Johnny Depp, Superhero hotness Stephen Amell (Arrow) & of course the hotest FBI agent in the world, Shemar Moore (Derek Morgan, Criminal minds) There are many more but these are the top 3 that came to mind!


5. What is your holy grail drugstore product?

Again so many.. you would have to narrow it down to a categoryof make up to be honest but the first one that comes to mind that I would cry about if they ever took it off the shelves is Loreal True Match foundation. You guys have heard me talk about this foundation time & time again! I love it!


6. Name 3 things you want to achieve before the end of the year!


  1. Saving - I really want to save enough money to up grade all my technology & go on holidays at the end of summer. I love my laptop its my baby but she has seen better days & soon she is going to give up on me all together #sadface. I want a new tablet or even better, one that transforms into a netbook for travel purposes & also an external hard - drive. Also I am in badly in need of a good holiday! Getting seriously ichy feet..so to speak!
  2. Horse Riding - I have mentioned this a couple of times before too but I really want to get back into again. Now that I have a couple of schools near me I cant think of any better time to get back into the swing of things and actually get good at it!! why not!!?
  3. Blogging - I really want to do what I can to be the best that I can be! I want to learn everything I can to make it not only a place that I love but that you guys do too! A place where you can come and chill out for while, just relax and enjoy & maybe even learn something new!!

7. Top 3 Books that you have read

Hmm.. Im actually not sure.. I would have to say #GIRLBOSS by Sophia Armoruso, I have a review here if you would like to check it out - #GIRLBOSS Book Review! Is anybody out There? by Marion Keyes (I love her!) & Reasons to Stay Alive by Matt Haig. I also have a review of this book here - Reasons to stay alive book review!.

8. How would you describe your blog?

Well I have 2 blogs. This one is basically whatever I feel like writing about. Currently it is mostly general chat & motivational posts but I want to branch out to fashion, DIY, baking & that sort of thing. My other one is anything & everything beauty! 9. If you could keep one; Facebook, Instagram, Twitter - which one would you keep & why?

Ok so If its personal then Facebook because its one of the main ways I stay caught up with my friends & the world. However if we are talking about blogging wise it would be Twitter as its my favourite platform to not only promote but meet, chat to other bloggers & find new blogs to read. 


10. Favourite Restaurant

I actually dont really have one. I have alot of places I love going to but I dont have an out & out favourite that I would go to as a special treat!

11. How would you describe your perfect night in?

Ooh Comfy Pjs, Home Spa night (bath/shower, spending time on hair & skin) take away, chocolate, Netflix, probably social media (lets be real) & maybe one of my friends over for gossip & chats!

Monthly Highlights 2016 - February & March



Hello Everyone,

In January I started doing a monthly highlight series. I love the concept of looking over the month & picking out all the things that made you happy!! So even though I have been super busy & this one is coming super late this month I still wanted to combine my last two months & get this post up for you to tell about all the great things that have happened in the past two months! (Be forewarned this is going to be a long one so grab yourself a cuppa!)  



February 2016



Seeing an old friend

A few years ago one of my best friends moved away to train to become a superstar chef. This girl is like a sister to me but over the years we seemed to have drifted & have not seen much of each other. This month I got the chance to meet up with her & have a short little catch up!! It wasnt for very long, way too short in fact but I definitely dont want that much time to pass again before we meet up again!


Besties having a baby

This month two of my very good friends gave birth to the most beautiful baby girl!! Shes so tiny & beautiful! She is also the first baby I have held in my adult years! So fragile, I was terrified I was going to drop her!! Well done guys!! 

Creating my Website

This month I started the process of creating my website "BeautyLaLinda.com" It is not live yet & wont be for a while as I want to make it perfect before I launch it! But it is really exciting & cool to start the process!!! 

Other little highlights

  • Picking up Lion King Colouring Book!!
  • Meeting & chatting with my new boss that I will be working with from March on...
  • Getting accommodation sorted for the march move & making plans
  • Chats with my mam (really going to miss the parents when I move)
     




March 2016


Moving

During the month of march I made the big move & honey I aint in the Emerald City any more! No this is definitely Kansas! It was a massive culture shock to say the least & if I am honest it has taken me longer than expected to get into the swing of things & get used to the pace of life down here! However I do love it! It was a big change but definitely needed. The area is just simply beautiful. The views are nothing short of spectacular. I honestly feel almost like I moved country. I do miss the city but you just simply do not get these views & surroundings in a city! (None of these pictures have been filtered or edited!)





New Friends

One of the best things about the area that I now live in is the people. They are so nice, so welcoming & so much fun to party with! I have only been down here 6 six weeks almost & in that time I have met so many cool people! People I know will become really good friends over the next coming months! They had really no reason to be as nice as they are & I think thats pretty awesome!






On the Road!

So, as many of you might already know I learned to drive about 2 years ago..... not because I had to. I had no need to learn. Im a city girl! But I really wanted to. Although I loved the idea of having a car & really enjoy driving, I had no real need to so nothing really pushed me to do so. That all changed the minute I moved. You cannot survive in my area without a car. The minute I leave my house I have a half an hour walk to the nearest shop or work. Within 3 weeks I had the car sorted, Taxed, Insured, NCTd.. The whole kit & kaboodole! I love it! Its my little baby! Woop Woop! (My little sheep friend there was a gift from 2 very good friends & his name is Simon)





     












Horse Riding

Since I have been down here I have been horse riding twice & it is something I want to keep up! I love it so much & the area I have moved to have many equestrian centers! Its so much fun! I have be doing beach & mountain trails!! #happiness



I am definitely not 100% settled here or figured a proper routine (If that was the case would have seen many posts from me by now) I just havent seemed to sort out the organisation of fitting everything in yet! But I will! We are getting there.... even if its taking a while... You guys are great though for sticking with me. You can expect regular posting resuming shortly!!

I have also achieved some of my goals for 2016!

  • Find a nice place to live #check
  • Getting a car sorted #check
  • Getting healthier #check (my diet has been mainly seafood & healthy goodness since I moved)

Once every four years!



Hello Everyone!

Happy Leap Day!! (Im not sure if thats a thing but it should be!) & Happy Birthday to any of you lucky enough to be born on this most elusive of days! 

Now as Im sure you all know Leap Day is only once every four years. This is due to the fact the there is not 365 days even in the year, therefore we have to add an extra day every four years to compensate for that!

I never really took much notice of Leap Day in the past but this year but now (maybe its because Im getting older) I just LOVE the idea of getting a whole extra day!!  

Why? You ask.. Well funnily enough it is actually from watching the show Modern Family that prompted this decision. In one episode it happens to be Leap Day & the character "Phil" (the dad), Writes the kids notes so they dont have to go to school and the family plan to do Trapeezing & go to an amusement park. He says something really interesting. He says "You have been given the gift of a whole extra day... You should do something fun & not waste it on school or work" (Well Im paraphrasing, It may not be word for word but that was the general idea) This idea stuck with me. I never saw it like that before. You get a whole extra day!! Thats actually pretty cool!! 

So this year I have decided to I have just decided to have a family day! Doesnt sound very exciting I know but for me this is perfect! I am moving next week & I wont be able to hang out with these guys for probably a couple of months after the move! During the week up to the move I am also working & packing. So a whole day with family & relaxing is just what I want.

If I Could....Tag



Hey Hey, 

Recently I saw this Tag going around & I thought It was really interesting so I decided to give it a go myself! As you can see from the title its called If I could... It is basically a series of questions on what would you do if you could and there were no external factors preventing you! So here we go!


If I could live anywhere...

Hmm... I think Id have to choose somewhere with a bit of heat.. or where they get REAL seasons. Like on the East Coast of America, where they get snow in the winter & proper heat in the summer. I love when the seasons represent what they are supposed to be! Other than that I cant really think of anywhere else that I would LOVE to live. There are SO many places I want to visit & so many things I want to see but not so much want to live, you never know though, that may change over time.  I actually Love living in Ireland for the most part but the seasons can sometimes be all over the place.    


If I could have any home...

I cant be the only one who has their future home planned out for years right?? The most important aspects are
  • Large windows looking out great views
  • A large balcony &/or Veranda to sit out 
  • Comfort & Harmony is key for inside living space
  • Pool for hot weather
  • Lots & Lots of space for Horses, Cats & Dogs
  • Oh and close enough to the city but far enough away that it feels like a different world 



 If I could have any garden...

Id have a National Wildlife Reserve. One where its large enough so that the animals are protected but get to run free & be wild!! I dont know how thats going work living Ireland but hey I can have 2 homes!  



If I could be on holiday right now...

If money & time werent an issue.. Id prob be in America either doing Route 66 or I would have a few days shopping in New York then over to Hawaii for a relaxing break in paradise!! If money & time REALLY were not a problem I would probably take a couple of years & just travel the world!! How amazing would that be??


If I could have any job right now...

I would actually be blogging full time, maybe writing magazine articles & covering events. I really want to work with companies that create cosmetics & skincare. I would also volunteer at an animal shelter or the Guide Dogs for the Blind Charity. 


If I could have any Talent...

Talent or Superpower? Cause if I had the choice it would be to talk to animals.... or turn into one whenever I please (how cool would that be!!) When Life gets too stressful just transform into a cat or a dog and chill... 


If I could live any day again...

It would probably be a day from my teens, with my old gang, when life was good & I didnt realise how good or easy it was!!  



There you have & someday when I win the Euromillions & when all the practical stuff is done and my loved ones are taken care of I will have an amazing home with wildlife filled garden, still blogging & visiting the entire world. I dont think I will gain superpowers or be able to time travel anytime soon.... thats a pity.. oh well.

Monthly Highlights 2016 - January


Hello There, 

In my Goals & Resolutions Post for 2016 (Here) I mentioned that I wanted to start a new monthly series on this blog. I had seen something similar on a blog called Simply Sinova! (Here) I was so inspired by it!! Life moves so quickly that its so easy to let it just pass you by. So much so you forget all the good things that happen each month. So I decided I want to slow down! At the end of each month I want to take a moment to sit down and think about all the highlights of that month! & Also share them with you guys of course!! 

New Year!!

I rang in the New Year this year as I usually do.. working.. Sounds terrible I know but believe it or not I have done this for the last 5 years & to be honest I dont think I would know what to do with myself if I wasnt haha! As I work behind a bar the atmosphere is fantastic! Im surrounded by friends! Music! I really enjoy it! To be honest It will be probably my last year ringing it in with them so Im happy to have had the opportunity!       

     


Fresh New Year!

As I was saying in my 1st Organisation post (Failure to plan is planning to fail) after the Holiday food coma has lifted and the fog has cleared I love the feeling of a fresh new year to start all over again! Full of possibility! I love planning and coming up with Ideas!! I know it may sound dorky but this month I really enjoyed doing alot of planning and organising!!  






Work Christmas Party!!

I will admit I had one or six..... (teen) drinks haha! But as I rarely drink I decided to relax a little bit! It was sooo much fun!! All dressed up, dinner, drinks & a lot of dancing!! They are a mad bunch but they are my mad bunch haha!!  I was lucky I have the day off the next day however.. the old age is catching up on me I think! Cant recover like I used to haha! 



Holidays!!

This month I got to take 2 whole weeks off from work!! Honestly can not remember the last time I did that, probably when I was still in school! I had the most fun!! Heres an overview
  • Went to Kerry for 3 days to spend time with one of my besties! Went for dinner, drinks, watched movies & general catching up with life! 
  • Spent time with my family both human & furry!! 
  • Went out with friends at the weekend for drinks! (AT THE WEEKEND!! WTF?? )
It was honestly one of the most relaxing & fun holidays and I didnt even leave the country!!

Life Changing Offers!!

While I was in Kerry I was offered a job which was completely unexpected & was also presented with the idea & opportunity of moving to Australia next year! After much thought & careful consideration I have taken the job in Kerry & will be moving in 3 weeks! I will also be putting plans in place to set foot on Australian soil next year!! exciting!! 





Other little highlights! 

  • A personal drama has finally been resolved and karma has come full circle! Gotta love Karma!
  • Finally got Hair Extensions! I have wanted them for so long!!
  • Celebrity Big Brother! Got absolutely hooked!! Ex on the Beach 4 starting! & Just started watching That 70s Show on Netflix!! 
  • Started driving again this month!
  • Justin Bieber! Been addicted to listening to his music this month "Love Yourself" being my fave of course!!
